I’m going into my senior year with only 17 and a half credits. A lot of stupid things happened junior year which is why I’m down 6 and a half credits. I didn’t get into drugs, alcohol or sex but I still made really stupid decisions that are now coming to bite me in the ass.
This summer, I decided to get back on track. More than anything, I want to attend UCLA… but I live in Canada and my grades aren’t that great. I’ve always done really well in English and Math even though I rarely studied in my previous years of High School. To sum everything up, I really f’d up. My counselor never did much to help before so I’m not going to her now, which is why I’m here asking you guys for help.
Lemme break it down:
I *think* I’m taking Advanced Functions, Calculus, Data Management, English, History, Accounting x2 and Writer’s Craft. I’m definitely taking night school and online classes (multiple if I have to) since I need credits. I know I need to take the SATs and I’ve made plans to do so sometime this fall. I made sure to transfer to a new school because I won’t be distracted and when I moved here in grade 8, my marks were in the mid 90′s due to the fact that I had no one to socialize with.
Will my chances decrease immensely due to my lower grades prior to my senior year’
As a Canadian, how do I get into an American University’
I’m able to take the SATs in October, November or December. When should I’ Most of my friends in Uni said I should take them in September/October but will November/December work just as well’ Or is that too late’
How many classes (online/night school) would I have to take in order compensate for junior year’ I think 30 credits is the minimum but I’m not sure how it works with UCLA.
I truly appreciate honesty but constructive criticism is best. I’m not staying back another year. I’ll do anything to graduate with my class and I want to get into UCLA more than anything. Even if my chances are slim, gimme everything you got.
